When reading this weeks articles it really hit home for me. There are five kids in my family. My mom was a stay- at- home mom looking after us, she always said that one of us got out of diapers and another one got in them. My dad was a elementary/middle school teacher in a lutheran school district. There was a time once when all of us kids where in school when my mom ended up getting a job as a secretary in a doctors office. Now I realize these things that we have been talking about this week. When I was in 3rd or 4th grade I was the one cooking for the whole family. My sisters were in sports and I was not old enough to play so I got stuck doing that chore. Once when I got old enough to play sports things did not change. I am the youngest out of the girls and I have two brothers. But I would come home from practice and dinner was still not made. My brothers and dad were just sitting on the sofa watching tv not even budging to try getting dinner made. They would always ask me what was for dinner. So even though I was still young but after I went to school and practice right after school I was still the one expected to make dinner for everyone.

Even still to this day up at my grandparents house I’m expected to do the chores that women would do. I can’t spend time with my grandpa talking with him like my brothers. I have to help in the kitchen whether it is setting up the kitchen table or doing dishes after breakfast, lunch or dinner. I guess you can say things in my family are still old- fashioned. But the thing is still to this day I love cooking and baking. In some weird way it relaxes me to do some baking by making a batch of cookies.

So a couple of weeks ago my car had broke down on the way into school. Good thing I was going up to use the computer lab and had no classes that day. So I heard this noise and my car was acting funny so I pulled over and called my younger brother right away. It sounded like my car was knocking but it ended up being a flat tire on my front driver side. When I looked at my other front tire the wire was showing through. My brother ended up coming out and changing my tire. I didn’t even know where to begin. After about 30 minutes or so he shows up and changes it without a problem. So I ended up driving my car back to down and took it right into the shop to get new tires.

When I got the new tires on they told me that I was going to need an alignment. So 5 days later I went and got an alignment and my oil changed at once. When I ended up getting my car back home I had smoke coming out by the rear tire. My car ended up going back into the shop the next day. The mechanics said that I blew something and my brakes were shot. Then when I had that all finished up they had told me that I was going to need new front brakes within the next couple thousand miles. I’m just thinking great just what I want to hear after having all that other stuff done with me car. But in that week my car definately got attention.

So a couple days ago I was bartendins and had on a movie channel. It ended up being a couple sat infront of the television that the movie was playing on.  The movie was called “Wildcats” this movies is about…

Molly (Goldie Hawn), the daughter of a famed football coach who’s dying to head her own team. When her wish is finally granted, Molly leaves her job coaching girl’s track at an affluent junior high to take over a football team at an inner-city high school–the kind of place where guard dogs are needed to patrol the campus. At first the new coach’s idealism and optimism are suffocated with racial and gender prejudice, but eventually her overriding spirit begins to whip her unruly teammates into shape. At the same time, she must also struggle to win a battle for the custody of her two young daughters. The film also features a successful blend of veteran and rookie actors, including Nipsey Russell, Swoosie Kurtz, Woody Harrelson, and Wesley Snipes. However, it’s Hawn who steals the show–as usual–as the determined and motivated Molly. Her uncanny ability to be humorous and dramatic within the same scene is what makes the film such an entertaining ride.

But anyways the lady in the couple says can you turn down the movie and turn up Jeopardy. Well later on she told me to switch it back cause she was getting into the movie.  A little later their were some regulars that had came in which most of them are guys, but their eyes were glued to watching the movie as well. I just thought it was kinda funny.

It was last Sunday morning, I woke up and was getting ready for work.  I was doing my hair so I had plugged in my straight iron.  I always use the straight iron for my bangs because my hair is frizzy/wavy.  When it came for me to use the iron it was still cold not even warm one bit.  I was freaking out because I am so use to my normal routine.  Needless to say that my bangs were flipping out looking like I had a horn coming out the side of my head.  The next day I ended up going to Walmart to get a new straight iron.  I guess it shows that I can not last that long without one.  So maybe as me being a women that we think it does matter with the way we look?  Which is so weird because I just wear jeans and t-shirts a lot.  Maybe it is a reason that I am single and think about myself different than what others see me for.

I know this is going to sound crazy.  But I have been working at a resturant located in a little town, a town where everyone knows everything about everyone.  Thats besides the point.  I have been working at this resturant for about two and a half years now.  But recently I have started to bartend one day a week.  Usually I’m waitressing on the family side so its just jeans and a t-shirt.  What is crazy is that one day I wore a lower cut shirt and it was not even to work, but some of they guys that come in had seen me.  Recently the regular guys that always come in about two to three times a week make comments on why I am not showing them.  Some guys will ask me if they are real or manufactured?  I answer them as real but it doesn’t ever seem good enough.  Then that  same guy will ask other guys on what they think.  It seems like no matter what I wear it would never seem good enough anyways.Just today at work when I was waitressing a guy said to me that he will get an outfit for me to wear on the barside.  I said what is wrong with what I have been wearing?  He replies, nothing.  So why is it where guys think you will make more tips from showing more skin?  But it is kind of funny because the days I will be bartending they never come in. Very strange if you ask me.
